X is a feature length anime film based upon the long running manga of the same name. Created by the four woman collective of artists known as CLAMP the movie is a lavishly animated tale that rivals, or many would say, surpasses the best to have come from any Western animation studio.

It is one of the most beautifully animated films we have seen to date (though a bit hard to follow), nevertheless we highly recommend you find a copy!

CLAMP are a very popular group of mangaka (manga artists), who are also responsible for the popular manga and anime series "Magic Knight Rayearth", "Card Captor Sakura", and "CLAMP School Detectives." CLAMP have an amazing range when it comes to the mood of their works, producing cute and fluffy pieces like CLAMP School Detectives, and also dark apocalyptic epics like X. The X movie was ground breaking for CLAMP and for animation in general. It was CLAMP's first full length film and stands out both for its richly animated visual style, and its serious foreboding content. (cont. on page 2)
